It is the policy of the TTC Group to establish, provide and maintain working conditions that are safe and healthy. Safe systems of work will be provided where appropriate.

TTC will provide all necessary information, instruction, training and supervision for their employees, so that their work does not put themselves, their colleagues, clients, visitors or members of the public at risk.

The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require the company to implement such safety arrangements as are appropriate, having regard for the nature of the activities, size and undertaking of the company, and for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of the preventative and protective measures. We intend to conform to these requirements.

TTC will take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure the safe selection, use, maintenance, repair or replacement of machinery and equipment. A similar standard of care will be taken to cover any substances used in the premises, including their handling, storage and transport.

The TTC Group will take all reasonable and practicable measures to ensure that a safe access to and exit from any place of work is provided and maintained.

All employees must take reasonable care of themselves and any other persons who may be affected by their actions or their omissions.

Employees must co-operate with their employees to allow legal obligations to be met. Items provided for health and safety purposes must not be misused.

The TTC Group will employ the best practical environmental options in the operation and delivery of provision of its services. The TTC Group operates an integrated Management System which, in addition to meeting the requirements of applicable legislation, regulations and the TTC Group standards, will:

  • Communicate the TTC Group’s environmental policy and objectives to interested parties upon request;

TTC strives to achieve ‘Best Practice’ in all endeavours. Our aim is to administer and deliver road safety education and other training courses and services that can be looked to as ‘Best Practice’ nationally.

TTC will continually strive to seek new ways of working that will improve our service delivery.

TTC recognise that the key factor to achieving stability and growth is total customer satisfaction. It is the policy of TTC to continually improve performance in all areas of service and delivery via the management standards: ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001.

Improvement activities will specifically target customer requirements relating to:

b. What we do with the information we gather?

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping;
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services;
  • We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests;
  • In respect of Drink Drive Rehabilitation Courses only, we compile statistical information for the Department for Transport;
  • In respect of Drink Drive Rehabilitation Courses only, we transmit personal information to relevant parties (The Court, DVLA) to confirm your eligibility (or otherwise) to be granted a discount in your disqualification.
  • Undertake a driving licence verification service through our third party partner on behalf of our customer/your employer to establish if you have a valid driving licence, any penalty points and convictions, reported medical conditions and vehicle category entitlement to drive. This service is valid for three years until consent is approved again.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

d. How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. At the TTC Group everyone gets involved in helping others as part of a BIG corporate social responsibility ethos running throughout the whole organisation.

Dress down days and fancy dress events are enjoyed with enthusiasm by staff who bake cakes and turn up in some tremendous costumes to have fun and help raise funds for all sorts of worthy charities.

Employees jump out of aeroplanes, run marathons, abseil down towers and bring in jumble for their local hospice.

They even contribute from their own wages as part of the company’s “Pennies from Pay” scheme which rounds down everyone’s monthly salary turning individual’s unmissed few pence into a hefty annual charity contribution of hundreds of pounds, which the company then doubles.

As an organisation, the TTC Group has raised more than £30,000 at a special Gala Ball for Severn Hospice. They have also committed £250,000 towards setting up Telford Enterprise Hub as part of a Young Britain campaign to help young entrepreneurs with an idea to set up in business.

They also give their time to sit on committees to help other organisations and charities organise events such as an annual Gala Ball for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Both the company chairman and MD along with directors give up their time and energy to encourage others to succeed in their own individual charity events. Cricket, football and many youth sports clubs receive sponsorship, and donations for new kit. The TTC Group has given a lifeline to their local Powerchair Football Club where wheelchair users enjoy football training and competitions.

The TTC Group is also a corporate sponsor of Telford AFC and their directors are big fans of the football club now in the Conference league.

Joint company Chairman, Jenny Wynn has sat on crime prevention panels, safer and stronger community groups, chaired West Mercia Crimestoppers and offered her company’s help wherever she can.

We work alongside Police and community organisers, crime and disorder reduction partnerships, neighbourhood watch and local councils to initiate joint campaigns aimed at reducing crime.

A recent initiative this year was to sponsor a new training scheme for motorcyclists run by the Safer Roads Partnership which was in jeopardy through lack of funds.

Recently they have backed the British Police Symphony Orchestra with essential funding so that the musical group can travel across the UK to put on events, which also raises money for good causes.

The TTC Group has raised awareness about business crime, mobile phone thefts, school vandalism, graffiti, the dangers of spiked drinks and home safety.

Joint Chairman Graham Wynn OBE, a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS), regularly attends meetings to lobby the Government on road safety, alcohol and drug misuse and the need for more education in schools. He also chairs Telford Business Board and is a member of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership Board.

Our team visits schools and colleges to educate young people about alcohol and drugs.

Because of their charity involvement for many years, the TTC Group has now set up the Telford Charitable Trust to channel sponsorship requests.

If your issue is not resolved?

Once we receive your complaint we aim to respond and resolve it within the scope of the company and contracted partners. If a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction you can ask to escalate the issue to a Team Leader who will be able to speak to you or arrange a suitable time for both parties to call you back. If after speaking to the Team Leader you do not feel that your issue has been resolved appropriately you can ask for it to be reviewed by a member of the management team, who will then become responsible for the resolution of the issue.

Road traffic safety (RTS) is a global concern.  It is estimated that around 1.3 million people are killed and around 20 million to 50 million are injured on the roads around the world each year, and that this level is rising.  The social, economic and health impacts are substantial.

TTC Group has introduced a RTS Management System which uses tools to help us reduce and ultimately eliminate, the incidence and risk of death and serious injury related to road traffic use.

We take into account legal and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes, and information about elements and criteria related to RTS that we identify as those which it can control and those which it can influence.

The RTS Management System has established good RTS management practices that will enable our organisation to achieve its desired RTS results.

TTC Group uses and promotes a ‘plan, do, check, act’ process approach to road safety that will guide us towards the delivery of our RTS results.  We currently use the following performance factors to achieve our planned objectives:

  • Reducing the number of deaths and serious injury
  • Post-collision response, emergency preparedness, post-collision recovery and rehabilitation
  • Communication & understanding of the RTS policies and procedures
  • Individual driver risk assessment based on driving history, driving behaviour & driver knowledge
  • Driver & vehicle document management system
  • Journey planning and risk limitation
